Rhinoplasty

Facial Harmony is Central to How We See Ourselves and Others

Your nose holds a place of importance as the most prominent feature of your face: it brings your other features into balance, lends to the appearance of symmetry and proportion, and can greatly affect your overall appearance. If you’re unhappy with the size and shape of your nose, have difficulty breathing, or have experienced an injury, rhinoplasty may be a good solution for you.

What to Expect from Nose Surgery

Rhinoplasty is typically performed using general anesthesia, though in some cases local anesthesia with IV sedation will be used. Dr. Bekanich will make small, inconspicuous incisions inside the nose, where they are well hidden. Through these incisions, she will remove or adjust underlying nasal bone and cartilage to reshape the nose to a more proportionate, symmetrical, and harmonious appearance.

Dr. Bekanich will discuss your concerns with you and, after evaluating your natural anatomy, develop a surgical plan that will provide you with safe and successful results.

Dr. Bekanich personalizes each procedure based on your individual concerns and desired outcome. When she has achieved pleasing results, she will close the incisions and fit your nose with a splint to both protect your results and aid in proper healing.

Rhinoplasty Recovery

Following surgery, you will experience soreness and swelling of the nose and surrounding areas. Some patients may also see slight bruising right after the procedure, but this should dissipate in a few days. Elevating your head and using ice packs can help minimize swelling.

Most patients are able to resume normal activity within a few weeks, though your final results may not be visible for six to nine months after surgery.
