Bright Eyes, Bold Confidence
As one of the most prominent features of your face that help express your thoughts and emotions, the eyes play a large role in communication. They are also one of the first areas to show signs of aging. If you are concerned with fine lines, excess skin, or under-eye bags that are causing you to look perpetually tired, an eyelid lift may benefit you.
Also known as blepharoplasty, eyelid surgery can help rejuvenate the appearance of your upper face by removing excess or sagging skin, reducing small deposits of fat under the eye, and lifting the upper eye to minimize a heavy-lidded appearance. Not only do you look more alert to others you actually feel like you have more energy on the inside!
Dr. Bekanich discusses facial rejuvenation on Studio512
How You Can Benefit from an Eyelid Lift
Working closely with you, Dr. Bekanich will help you determine what procedures or treatment option will best address your needs. If puffiness or sagging skin around your eyes are causing you to look fatigued, an eyelid lift can:
- Restore a youthful, alert appearance to the eyes
- Help you see more clearly, if excess skin was affecting your ability to see
- Smooth out “bags” under the eyes
- Make you feel rejuvinated
Depending on your needs, Dr. Bekanich may recommend either an upper blepharoplasty, lower blepharoplasty, or combination of both. Additionally, depending on your needs, Dr. Bekanich will evaluate your face to determine if you may benefit from a different procedure, such as a brow lift.
Before & After
To address the appearance of heavy or drooping lids, Dr. Bekanich may suggest an upper blepharoplasty. She will begin the procedure by making an inconspicuous incision in the natural crease of your upper eyelid, where the resulting scar will be minimally visible. Dr. Bekanich will then precisely remove excess skin and fat, careful to follow the natural anatomy of your eye.
A lower blepharoplasty is often the best option for reducing the appearance of puffy or sagging skin underneath the eyes. Dr. Bekanich can remove the pockets of fat leading to the appearance of “bags” and tighten the underlying muscles through an incision either at the outer corner of the lower lid or just inside the eyelid. The incisions will be inconspicuous and hidden by your natural lash line.
